-Ancient Chinese belief
Erik Sanders, as a single man, finds it difficult to adopt a child from China. But his resolve remains strong, and after many months, he brings Mary home to Atlanta. Then an event threatens to take away the child who has made his life worthwhile. . . . Qing, Mei Li, known as the Ice Maiden, seems destined for greatness on Chinaís Olympic team. Skating is her life, until a malevolent event turns her dreams upside down. Soon, she is thrown off the team and banished from her family, only to have the one thing she now lives for taken from her. She is determined to find her daughter, even if it takes her many years, and a trip to the other side of the world . . . .
By chance, Eric, Mary and Mei Li meet for a brief moment in Atlanta. The red threads tangle and tug. Has Erik found his true love? Has Mei Li found her daughter? The odds seem astronomical that either could happen. In the end, the little girl will reveal the truths . . . .
