Sometimes a girl just can’t escape her past. Thirtysomething psychic librarian Ophelia Jensen has been haunted by the murder of her best friend Brian, and now, five years later, some important new evidence has arisen. In order to investigate, she must come in contact with the snoopy reporter, Fletcher Beasley, and the police detective, Henry Comacho--both of whom were more a nuisance than a help during the initial murder investigation. Unfortunately, Ophelia’s kind grandmother Abby’s not much help; she has her own problems. A large hog confinement facility wants to build near their small Iowa town, and in the process, pollute the environment Abby has sworn to protect. So the benevolent witch is leading the group to stop them. Hopefully, Abby’s gift to Ophelia of her grandmother’s spells will help her find the killer. However, when dead bodies start turning up, Ophelia knows the worst has happened--the killer has found her.
