O novo álbum de John, entitula-se Rockin' in Rhythm : A Tribute to Duke Ellington. Inclui 'In a Mellow Tone', 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore', 'Satin Doll', 'I Got It Bad andThat Ain't Good', entre outras. Na faixa 'Perdido' há a participação nos vocais de Kurt Elling e da esposa de John Pizzarelli, Jessica Molaskey, cantora e aclamada artista da Broadway. Tambem participam o pianista Larry Fuller, o baixista Martin Pizzarelli, o baterista Tony Tedesco e em 7 faixas Swing Seven horns com arranjos de Don Sebesky. Há também uma faixa solo instrumental na qual John faz um tributo a seu pai Bucky Pizzarelli - quem o inspirou a tornar-se músico. Bucky também se junta ao filho em 4 faixas do álbum.
