Lady Sarah Moorehouse belongs to the Ladies Literary Society of London, a group of young ladies who, rather than read proper material like poetry by Byron or novels by Jane Austen, would much rather read books they’re not suppose to…Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, for example. During a discussion, the women decide that they too would create the perfect man - figuratively, of course. Each is assigned a task, and Sarah’s assignment is to pilfer a shirt from their host of a country party, the very attractive and very broad-chested Matthew Devonport, Viscount Langston. Matthew has spent the last year looking for buried treasure to save his family from financial ruin, rather than hunt for an heiress bride. Then he catches Lady Sarah in his bed chamber, his shirt in her hands. Worse, she tells him she’s seen him digging in the family graveyard! One misunderstanding leads to another, and suddenly Sarah and Matthew are thrown together, as they try to uncover each other’s secrets--without risking the secrets within their own hearts.
