Organized into 25 chapters, this book begins with an overview of prevention of disease that can be effected by the immunization of susceptible hosts to produce circulating antibodies that neutralize viral infectivity. This text then discusses the general properties of the viruses. Other chapters consider the methods of preparing tissue cultures and explain the methods used for titrations of serum antibodies and serological identification of viruses. The final chapter deals with the types of vaccine in use.
