Descrição

What Do Honeybees Do? is an educational picture book that is designed for the elementary school age child, but is for children of all ages and anyone who is interested in the amazing honeybee.

It is a book that introduces the fundamentals of the hive, the honeybee and the work that honeybees do inside and outside of the hive. Written and photographed by a professional beekeeper, “What Do Honeybees Do?” gives the reader a glimpse into the hive and the close up world of this amazing insect that so greatly impacts humanity.

This book comes at a time when the honeybee is under incredible stress worldwide and is intended to introduce this important creature to younger generations in the hope that they will work toward responsible stewardship of the honeybee.

Jake Yarish has spent seven years in the commercial beekeeping industry working for two separate companies specializing in queen breeding in Hawai’i. Before moving to Hawai’i, he was certified by the State of California to control Africanized honeybees also known as “killer bees” He worked for three years controlling Africanized honeybee swarms for a small family owned pest control company in Southern California.

Jake lives near San Diego with his wife and three children.
